Left handers, a cycle of about 780 days
You may be asking why is it a poor time to get pregnant in July and August, 2004. It is a poor time because there is a cycle when more left-handers are born. Along with left-handers there are a number of health conditions that may be a part of the cycle. Those conditions may include asthma, allergies, hay fever, eczema, diabetes, myasthenia graves, alcoholism, and depression.
I found the cycle of left-handers by analyzing the birth days of 12,412 baseball players. There was a cycle of about 780 days when there were more left-handers born. I divided my test into 50 day periods. These are the results of the number of left-handers born in the 50 day periods: 153, 133, 136, 128, 124, 98, 132, 128, 108, 129, 119, 112, 117, 102, and 118. The 153 is the high period and is scientifically significant. The 50 day period when 153 baseball players were born occurred when the fetus was 30 to 80 days old. It appears that for left-handers there was an uneven development of the brain at the early stage of the fetus. The left hemisphere of the brain doesn’t develop as much as the right. The left side of the brain controls the right side of the body. So the right hemisphere becomes dominant and the left side of the body.
It is believed that the hormone testosterone suppresses the thymus, which causes the uneven development of the brain. The critical time is 30 to 80 days after getting pregnant. For this latest cycle the period from August 22, 2004 to October 10, 2004 would be the period when it is predicted that testosterone levels would be higher. That is the period that would do more damage to the fetus that is 30 to 80 days old. It would be the time to avoid having excess levels of testosterone.
My test of baseball players is large and over a century. It would be good if others check my theory using other data. One test is if there will be higher levels of testosterone from the period of August 22, 2004 to October 10, 2004. There are firms that do tests of testosterone. There are tests that could be done if firms have old data. These are the periods that it would be predicted to have higher levels of testosterone. July 17, 2002 to September 4, 2002; June 7, 2000 to July 26, 2000; April 17, 1998 to June 5, 1998; February 8, 1996 to March 28, 1996; and December 2, 1993 to January 20, 1994.
A more direct test is for left-handers. These are the predicted times when there would be more left-handers born.
